2016| The beginning

Since 2016 Tonic Lane has championed numerous sustainability projects and has been recognised by local and state award ceremonies for our ongoing efforts to talk sustainability on a domestic level and reduce the use of ‘single-use’ products.

Tonic Lane Neutral Bay was the first cafe in Sydney to stand solo and ban single-use disposable coffee cups from 1 August 2017. We instead engaged our local community on what was called 'The Mug Movement' project which encouraged lovers of great coffee and even greater Aussie gin to bring their own reusable cups, or borrow one of our 300+ mugs on backup shelves, in an attempt to reduce unnecessary waste going to landfill.

In 2018 Tonic Lane were finalists in the NSW Green Globe Awards for Business Industry Leadership. At the 2019 Australia Day Award we were crowned Environmental Citizens of the Year.

2019 | New chapter

The brains behind chapter two of Tonic Lane is Lain Tapsall who has a double decade of hospitality prowess on her side and an ever growing passion for quality which is balanced by a hearty penchant for making a difference everyday in every way.

A roaming café by day, an Australian Gin bus by dark able to bring the sustainability to the people. Tonic Lane is now on tour, a new chapter for the team as we take our retro atmosphere roaming around town in our converted 1984 Toyota Coaster mini bus. Even the menu board and retro signage is made using preloved vintage collectables from curb-sides and op-shops which adds to the eclectic vibe.

When you add the five start service, engaging conversation and spirit of sustainability together you are just left wanting more of what Tonic Lane on Tour has to offer!
